Interview of Penny Phelan
Penny Phelan traumatic brain injury survivor and artist, illustrate along with her occupational therapist and fellow artist at Paint A Miracle that beyond the standard rehab process, it is through community which honors our full potential, we can thrive.
Classes
Paint a Miracle's staff takes care to develop curriculum and adaptations to ensure that all artists have an enriching and enjoyable fine arts experience. Artists work in a variety of mediums, including painting, drawing, ceramics, and fiber arts. Paint a Miracle is a place of independence, artistic freedom and inspiration - a place where one can enjoy the creative process amongst friends.
Exhibitions
Paint a Miracle provides its artists with a number of opportunities to exhibit their work, including venues such as the Grand Rapids Art Museum, Paint Creek Center for the Arts, and the Rochester Library. Works are also exhibited and sold at the Bizzy Buzz Artisan Market in Downtown Rochester.
Store
One of Paint a Miracle’s goals is to present our artists with opportunities to sell their work. This provides our artists with income as well as a sense of accomplishment.
Artship
ArtShip is our online art community. Our focus is on people with disabilities, especially those who may be homebound and/or limited by financial resources. ArtShip aims to make art and community accessible.
